President's Message

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the new website of the Cyprus Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (CSVES). The position of President is for me deeply honourable, but also a significant responsibility: the responsibility to continue the substantial work offered by previous Boards and to develop it in a way that honours our specialty and our patients in Cyprus.

Vascular and endovascular surgery is not merely our science — it is our common knowledge domain, which we must defend, protect and promote every day. The care of vascular patients on the island must be provided by scientists with full training and competence, and CSVES has an obligation to safeguard this framework.

At the same time, this website is not addressed only to vascular surgeons. It is also intended to serve patients, members of the public, associate members, healthcare professionals and collaborating specialties who share with us the responsibility of caring for vascular patients. Through reliable information, educational material and transparent communication, CSVES aims to contribute to better public awareness, earlier recognition of vascular disease and stronger cooperation between all those involved in vascular care.

I believe deeply that the strength of our specialty depends on the participation of all of us and on the sincere unity among us. No one can change reality alone. Together, organised and with a common voice, we can build a Society that is strong, prestigious, institutionally weighty and with the real ability to support the rights of vascular surgeons in Cyprus.

At the same time, CSVES must be outward-looking, present in the European and international vascular community. Developing collaborations with leading European and international scientific societies is a strategic priority — not as a formal process, but as a means of upgrading education, research and clinical practice in Cyprus.

We aspire for our new digital home to become a meeting point, an information hub and a space for open dialogue — a place where we find specialty news, educational material, collaboration opportunities and, above all, a common space that unites us.

I invite you to participate, to propose, to criticise, to create. CSVES belongs to all of us — and only together can we make it as strong as it deserves to be.
