Who can become a member of CSVES?

Membership is open to vascular and endovascular surgeons, vascular residents, and allied health professionals working in related fields in Cyprus or abroad. Full membership requires a recognised surgical qualification and active practice in vascular surgery.

How do I apply for membership?

You can apply via the Membership page on our website. Complete the online application form, attach the required supporting documents (CV, proof of qualification, and a letter of recommendation from an existing CSVES member), and submit. The Membership Committee reviews applications within 30 days.

Question 3

What are the annual membership fees?

The annual membership fee is €50 for all member categories (€100 from 2027 onwards). Honorary Members are exempt from fees. Fees are payable by bank transfer to the Society's account.

Can I renew my membership online?

Yes. Members receive a renewal reminder by email each January. You can renew via the Members Login portal by confirming your details and completing the payment. Renewals are due by 31 March each year. Members with outstanding dues forfeit their voting rights until payment is received.

How do I update my contact details?

What events does CSVES organise each year?

CSVES organises an Annual Scientific Conference (usually held in autumn), workshops on specific vascular procedures (endovascular techniques, open surgery, duplex ultrasound), nursing and allied health days, webinars, and joint symposia with international vascular societies. How do I register for an event?

Visit the Events page, select the event you wish to attend, and click "Register". You will be asked to log in or create an account. After completing the registration form and payment, you will receive a confirmation email with your entry details and any pre-event materials.

Are events open to non-members?

Accepted Answer

Most CSVES events are open to all healthcare professionals, though members benefit from significantly reduced registration fees. Some members-only sessions (e.g., the General Assembly and certain workshops) are restricted to current CSVES members.

Can I earn CME/CPD credits at CSVES events?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CSVES conferences and most accredited workshops carry Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits recognised by the Cyprus Medical Council and European bodies (EACCME / UEMS). The number of credits for each event is listed in the event details. Certificates of attendance are issued automatically after the event.

What is the cancellation / refund policy?

Cancellations received more than 30 days before the event are eligible for a full refund minus a €15 administration fee. Cancellations between 15–30 days receive a 50% refund. No refunds are given for cancellations within 14 days of the event; however, a substitute delegate may be sent in your place. Please notify the secretariat at info@csves.org in writing.

How can I submit an abstract or present at the Annual Conference?

Abstract submissions open typically 4–5 months before the Annual Conference. Submission guidelines, deadlines, and the online portal link are announced via the website and member newsletter. Abstracts are peer-reviewed; accepted authors are notified 6 weeks before the conference and invited to present orally or as a poster.

How can I propose a research collaboration with CSVES?

Send a brief research proposal (max 2 pages) to info@csves.org including the study objectives, methodology, proposed timeline, and expected outcomes. The Scientific Committee reviews proposals quarterly. Collaborative projects may include joint publications, multi-centre registries, or clinical trials. International researchers are also welcome to apply.

Does CSVES offer research grants or fellowships?

Yes. CSVES annually awards a Young Investigator Grant (up to €3,000) for early-career researchers, and facilitates access to ESVS (European Society for Vascular Surgery) travel fellowships and scholarships. Grant calls are announced in the spring newsletter and on the website.

How are clinical guidelines developed and updated?

CSVES adopts and adapts international guidelines (primarily ESVS and ESC) for the Cypriot clinical context. A dedicated Guidelines Working Group reviews the latest evidence, consults with clinical experts, and publishes updates every 2–3 years or whenever major new evidence emerges. Draft guidelines are open for member consultation before final approval.

Is CSVES a member of international vascular societies?

CSVES is a member of the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) and maintains relationships with the Mediterranean League of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (MLAVS) and the International Society for Vascular Surgery (ISVS). How can I submit a manuscript to the CSVES bulletin?
